Dr Catharine RobertsBSc, MB BS, MRCOGDr Roberts was appointed as an NHS consultant at Homerton University Hospital in 2001 and has been practising in the NHS and the private sector since 2005. Dr Roberts is a generalist obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in the pelvic floor and minimal access surgery. Born and brought up in Lancashire, Dr Roberts came to London in 1984 to study at University College and Middlesex School of Medicine. After an additional year to obtain a BSc in Nutrition, Dr Roberts qualified in 1990 with a Distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She went on to train at hospitals throughout London and the South East including UCH/Middlesex, Hammersmith, the Whittington and King’s College Hospital. It was at King’s College Hospital that she first worked with Dr Gibb in 1997 and 1999. Having completed general training in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Roberts spent time acquiring additional skills in the management of problems with the pelvic floor (particularly the impact of childbirth on the pelvic floor) and minimal access (keyhole) surgery. She has published articles in all of these areas and teaches both professionals and the public on a regular basis. Dr Roberts has admitting privileges at The Portland Hospital. She has two children and lives with her husband and children in East London. Qualifications
