Catriona Muir RM DipHE IBCLC

Catriona Muir qualified as a Registered Midwife in 1995. She has vast experience in natural childbirth, having worked at the Birth Unit at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth as well as in hospitals with more conventional delivery techniques. At The Birth Company she provides midwifery input and advice to mothers both antenatally and postnatally.

Together with the consultants, Catriona assists women and their partners in preparing for childbirth. If you choose our Consultant package, you will see her for a booking appointment at 26 weeks of pregnancy, to complete the necessary documentation for The Portland Hospital. Or, if you choose our Integrated package, you will have several appointments with her. Catriona has a particular interest in the concept of active birth and helps run our antenatal couples class for parents-to-be which is held at around week 36 of your pregnancy.

As a qualified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Catriona provides breastfeeding and infant feeding support and advice to all our mothers. After the birth, Catriona is available for home visits where extra help and support is required.
