Support team

Lisa is the Practice Manager. She began working with The Birth Company in 1999. Lisa used to work at the Birth Unit at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, where she gained experience of dealing with clients in what was often a very busy and emotional environment. She carried her experience through to The Birth Company, helping Dr Gibb to develop the practice from its inception. After returning from maternity leave, Lisa took a more behind- the- scenes role, managing projects and continuing to facilitate the development of the practice, as well as helping in reception when needed. Now a mother of two boys Lisa continues to support and maintain The Birth Company’s high standard of care.

Ruth has been replacing Lisa during her second maternity leave. She is going to revert to being our Saturday receptionist and will continue her accountancy studies during the week. Previously Ruth worked at The Fetal Medicine Centre for four years. Ruth has a little one year old girl.

Machi undertakes a multi facetted role for The Birth Company. Originally from Greece, she gained her Masters degree in Health Care Management at University of Surrey. Upon completion of her masters she began work at the Fetal Medicine Centre where she gained relevant experience and the platform for which to join The Birth Company. In the summer of 2008 she was provided with the opportunity and became a part of The Birth Company team. Some of her responsibilities involve liaising with patients and ensuring that every visit to the Birth Company is a pleasant one. She is also tasked with ongoing projects with respect to the development of The Birth Company.
